Residual Sugar: 15 g/L
Titratable Acidity: 4.6 g/L
Harvest Date: 21st March 2020.
Climate: 2020 was a classical growing season with plenty of sunshine, not too much heat through Summer and a return to cool nights preceding harvest, ensuring acidities and flavours remained bright and vibrant. This was all built on good rainfall pre Christmas, which set the vines up with healthy working canopies that held through to the end of harvest. The weather over harvest was settled and dry, allowing fruit to be harvested in lovely conditions.
Winemaking: The fruit was hand-picked from an estate owned, single vineyard that borders the winery site. The fruit was then destemmed /crushed, and the resulting must was left for 24 hours before pressing off. We then cold settled the juice for 24 hours, before racking the clear juice to a stainless steel tank and starting fermentation with a selected aromatic yeast strain. Following fermentation, the wine was left on its yeast lees for 4 months before bottling on the 23rd September.
- 'A very pure, charming expression of gewürztraminer with classic white rose, lychee, potpourri and Turkish Delight flavours. Made in a medium-dry style, with a good balance between subtle acidity and subliminal sweetness.' 93/100 Points, Bob Campbell, NZ
- 'No mistaking the aromas of lavender and roses, exotic fruits, apple and talc. On the palate - youthful, tense, spicy, crisp, exotic, very fruity and just dry. A coarse-silk texture with medium+ acidity, reminders of the floral and spice attributes lead to a balance, fresh and delicious finish. Best drinking from today and through 2023+. Consider this wine with pate or creamy fettuccini dishes with salmon.' 91/100 Points, Cameron Doulas, NZ
- "A wonderful rendition of the variety; the gorgeously perfumed bouquet shows mango, pineapple, lychee and rich floral aromas, followed by a concentrated palate displaying silky mouthfeel and fleshy texture. It's opulent yet balanced and harmonious with a lengthy satisfying finish. At its best: now to 2025." 94/100 Points, Sam Kim, NZ
