Whitehaven has struck gold with Double Gold and a series of Gold medals at the 2024 Sakura Womens' Japan Wine awards.

The 2023 Whitehaven Pinot Gris received a Double Gold, which is an exceptional result.  

About the competition:

  • This is the 11th Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards.

  • A total of 430 judges, all women in the Japanese wine industry, judged 4,023 items from 27 countries.

  • 324 items were awarded “Double Gold”, 1,441 items were awarded “Gold”, 682 items were awarded “Silver”, and a total of 2,447 items were honored with awards.

  • In addition, 61 of outstanding items from the "Double Gold" were honored with the "Diamond Trophy".
