Kōparepare is produced and bottled by Whitehaven, a family-owned winery in Marlborough, New Zealand. Created with a purpose, Kōparepare supports marine conservation by donating from every bottle sold to trusted conservation partners in the markets where the wines are enjoyed.

Whitehaven's connection to the ocean began long before the winery. In 1993, while sheltering in the Marlborough Sounds with their young daughter Samantha, Sue and Greg White fell in love with the region and decided to build a winery founded on family, quality and caring for the environment.

That commitment deepened when Samantha met her husband Josh, a marine biologist whose passion for healthy oceans introduced Whitehaven to the marine conservation non-profit, LegaSea.

Today, Whitehaven is proud to be a Platinum Partner of LegaSea, and together Kōparepare was created to help fund the restoration of New Zealand's marine environment.

As Kōparepare has grown internationally, so has its conservation programme. In New Zealand, every bottle supports LegaSea. In Canada, every bottle supports Ocean Wise. As Kōparepare reaches new markets, we'll continue partnering with organisations that share our commitment to healthier oceans.

In 2020, Samantha returned to the family business as Brand Ambassador for the Kōparepare range. Having spent the first six months of her life aboard the yacht on which her parents sailed the Pacific, caring for the ocean has always been part of her story.

"Whitehaven is the dream my parents shared while sheltering in the waters of New Zealand's Marlborough Sounds. As a family-owned business, we believe in caring for our natural environment and protecting it for future generations. Kōparepare, meaning 'gift' or 'contribution', is our way of giving back. Every bottle sold helps support marine conservation through our trusted partner organisations, helping to protect and restore our oceans for generations to come. We invite you to be part of that journey."
