Vacancy – SAFETY & QUALITY COORDINATOR
About the Role
Reporting to our Sustainable Development Manager, the Safety and Quality Coordinator will build strong partnerships across the business to reinforce our positive quality, safety and wellbeing culture, while leading the development and continuous improvement of quality, safety and wellbeing systems, policies and practices.
This is a permanent full-time position (however, part-time may be considered).
Key responsibilities include:
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
· Lead and improve the H&S framework, ensuring compliance and best practice
· Partner with teams to identify risks and implement practical controls
· Lead incident management, training, reporting and safety systems
· Provide expert guidance on risk, hazardous substances and contractor management
Quality Assurance & Compliance
· Lead and maintain the quality assurance framework and certifications
· Drive continuous improvement of systems, SOPs and product quality
· Lead audits, compliance activities and product recall processes
· Build a strong quality and food safety culture across the business
About You
You are analytical, people-focused, pragmatic, and influential —someone who improves safety, wellbeing and quality through collaboration and sound, practical decisions-making.
You will be / have:
· Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a similar role for a commercial business.
· An in-depth understanding of relevant legislation and best practice.
· Strong critical thinking and risk assessment skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration.
· A pragmatic problem solver, with a focus on practical solutions and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
· Change management and project management experience and skills.
· Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills.
· Persistent, patient, and adaptable.
· Resilient, highly motivated by challenges and change, with the ability to foster this in others.
· Self-managing and able to take initiative and act within delegated authorities.
· Ability to work flexible and “out of office” hours, when required.
· Full drivers’ licence.
You will have or be working towards:
· A relevant qualification in HACCP.
· One or more of the following:
· Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and safety Management.
· National Certification/Diploma in Occupational Safety and health.
· NEBOSH International Certificate/General Certification in Occupational safety and health
· NZ Certification in Workplace H&S practice level 4.
· NZISM Professional Standards Framework or Technical Member of IOSH.
· NZQA Level 4 National Certificate in Health and Safety (Coordination)
