With vineyards in all three of Marlborough’s sub-regions our winemakers take advantage of sub-regional diversity and Marlborough’s exceptional terroir, combined with contemporary winemaking and traditional craftsmanship, to create a diverse range of award winning wines headed by our flagship Sauvignon Blanc.
Appellation Marlborough Wine (AMW)
Appellation Marlborough Wine (AMW) is a registered trademark created to uphold and enhance the quality reputation of Marlborough Wine.
All Whitehaven wines are proudly AMW accredited. This is important, as not all Marlborough wines are accredited.
Displaying the AMW brand marque on our labels is a guarantee that our wines have met strong quality criteria, having been tasted by an independent panel of experts, and are:
- Produced from 100% Marlborough fruit,
- Bottled in New Zealand,
- Made from grapes cropped at or below set parameters and in carefully managed vineyards,
- Produced sustainably from vineyards that are SWNZ certified.
A wine carrying the AMW logo gives consumers confidence that they are purchasing a genuine Marlborough wine that is an authentic, quality expression of the Marlborough region.
AMW certification aligns with Whitehaven’s own business philosophies, and AMW certification allows us to promote our 100% Marlborough focus.
