Spring typically heralds a rush of wine awards, citations of excellence highly coveted by hard-working winemakers. And there is certainly spring in the step of the Whitehaven winemaking team, delighted that the new vintage release 2012 WHITEHAVEN Sauvignon Blanc has already scored two Gold Medals at leading New Zealand wine shows.

The first was awarded at the 2012 Spiegelau International Wine Competition chaired by Mike De Garis, and hot on its heels came another Gold at the 2012 New Zealand International Wine Show, chaired by Bob Campbell MW.

‘We are committed to making wines that are true expressions of Marlborough terroir, and rigorously select only the best grapes for the flagship wine in the Whitehaven portfolio, comments Sue White, Managing Director.

‘And the new 2012 release Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc certainly epitomises the style and quality we seek to achieve.’
