The USA's 2017 Imported Wine Hot Brands list was published in the April 2018 issue of Market Watch, an international publication produced by Shanken Communications – the publisher of the renowned Wine Spectator magazine.
The award recognises the Whitehaven brand’s 25% growth in the USA market during 2017, something Whitehaven has achieved through its distributor relationship with E&J Gallo. The award also recognises the consistency of the super-premium Whitehaven brand in the USA with the label remaining on the list, despite numerous long-time winners being displaced. New Zealand has four Hot brand labels on this year’s list.
One of the criteria to be considered for the Hot Brand list is double-digit growth each year in 2015, 2016, 2017. Whitehaven also appeared on the list in 2016.
Whitehaven has been successfully exporting to the United States since 2004 when its first shipment totalled just 5,000 cases. In 2015 Whitehaven celebrated the export of its millionth case of wine to the US.
