    VITICULTURE

Grape Growing: 2020 was a classical growing season with plenty of sunshine, not too much heat through Summer and a return to cool nights preceding harvest, ensuring acidities and flavours remained bright and vibrant. This was all built on good rainfall pre Christmas, which set the vines up with healthy working canopies that held through to the end of harvest. The weather over harvest was settled and dry, allowing fruit to be harvested in lovely conditions.

    Harvest Date: 14th, 16th and 22nd March 2020

    VINIFICATION

Winemaking: Made with 100% Pinot Noir, the fruit was machine-harvested then crushed and immediately pressed at the winery to ensure the desired level of colour and flavour extraction.  Using only the early ‘free run’ juice, fermentation was at cool temperatures with selected yeast to create a wine with pure fruit flavours and freshness.

    Winemaker: Diana Katardzhieva

    ACCOLADES

    • 2021 Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards: Gold Medal
    • 'Fleshy, plump, ripe and oozing aromas of strawberry and sweet yellow plum, some cold red zinger tea and flowers. On the palate - satin texture, flavours of lite red berries and a touch of mineral. There’s a moment of dried herb and minerality before the core of fruit carries the wine through to its just dry finish. Balanced, well made and ready. Best drinking from today and through 2022.' 90/100 Points, Cameron Douglas, NZ

    • "It's fabulously expressed and instantly appealing with lifted watermelon, peach and rockmelon aromas with a gorgeous floral overtone. The palate displays excellent focus and flow, beautifully complemented by juicy fruit flavours and refreshing acidity. At its best: now to 2022" 94/100 Points, Sam Kim, NZ
